3 tbsp butter
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 (14-ounce) can chicken broth
2 tsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat; add onion and saute 5 to 7 minutes until lightly browned.
Whisk in flour, cooking and whisking constantly until lightly browned.
Gradually whisk in chicken broth and soy sauce
Cook and wisk constantly until thickened.
Garnish with fresh chives.
Great to serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
