Hearty Beef Vegetable Soup

1# round stead or roast
1 whole yellow onion
2 carrots
1# celery
10 - 15 large mushrooms
1 potato
1/2 cup beef base
1 tb sp. sweet basil
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 gallon water

Place water on to start boiling. While water is heating thinly slice mushrooms and carrot. Add to water. Cube meat and potato. add to water. and dice celery and onion. after water has boiled add beef base and seasonings.
