Jambalaya
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Large Onion - chopped
1-2 lbs cooked ham - cubed
1 clove garlic or 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
Heat over low heat until onion is soft
Add:
3 Cups water
4 beef cubes
2 cans of tomatoes
2 Tablespoons chopped parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
1 bayleaf
Bring to boil. Take off heat & refrigerate for 3-4 hours or overnight.
Bring to boil & add 1 Cup of long grain rice.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is done.
Add 2 (6-8 ounce) cans of shrimp.
Simmer 20 minutes and serve.
This is a really good recipe - it's been passed around my family for 10 years now!
