Exceptional Pinto Beans

Pick and wash 2 cups pinto beans
6 cups water
1 crushed clove of garlic
1 medium onion chopped
4 chicken boulion cubes
3 tbsp olive oil
tsp or so of salt and black pepper

Combine all ingredients and bring to vigorous boil, then turn down to simmer for 3 or 4 hours.
Stir occasionally for even cooking.
Thirty minutes or so before ready to serve add 1/2 teas. of sugar.

This recipe works well with most dried beans and peas.
You may have to add a little more water as the beans cook, you'll want lots of good bean juice for your cornbread.
